Meet Edit Prose

Jeannie Ballew, Owner

As a coach, Jeannie is an especially adept listener able to deeply intuit the heart of a client’s vision and goals.  She then helps the client articulate those into a coherent plan.  She can easily shift between the forest and the trees, keeping big picture structural organization in mind yet managing the details with dexterity.  As an editor, she is able to take on “beginner’s mind” and put herself into the shoes of an author’s potential reader, thereby providing insightful information that is often obscured to the author.  She is also able to take wordy, redundant, or choppy prose and tighten it up to read smoothly and succinctly.

Jeannie has been teaching, training, and coaching English since 1987 when she completed her master’s degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).  She has taught writing at the college level, in corporate settings, and in manufacturing environments.  Jeannie has also designed and developed a dozen seminars on writing and other communication skills.  She has extensive writing experience and is at work on her third novel.
